'The Borestière' takes its cues from 'Fox Char-Navy Twill Tweed', combined with the details of an iconic garment, and intricate styling from Chato Lufsen.
Drawing on inspiration from the works of Le Corbusier, a modernist architect who envisioned developing a day-in-day out jacket, with modifications and features to suit an everyday lifestyle.
These adjustments would allow for plenty of movement within the shoulders, through the use of "pivot" style sleeves. In addition to conveniently situated patch pocketing and a versatile nature to the main body. Considered ahead of its time, 'The 'Forestière' was launched during the 1950's, as a unique take on a workwear coat.
Modelled upon its very predecessor, 'The Borestière' is skilfully produced by Chato Lufsen, who hold the rights to create a version of the original jacket.
Crafted from the versatile and heavyweight 'Char-Navy Twill Tweed', a jacketing cloth designed to adapt to a city or country lifestyle. A design directly inspired by Fox Brothers' extensive archive of textiles, which date back to the mid 1900's. The Fox Tweed collection of fabrics, echo the colours of Somerset's surrounding moors and valleys, with this particular tweed weighing 480/510g, 17/18oz.
'The Borestière' features a mandarin collar with architectural pocketing, elbow patches, piped buttonholes, elephant embossed metal buttons, midnight blue Fox lining and inner pocket.
